The Biggest unacknowledged tragedy of 2026

I personally battled my way out of this jungle. Only and until I asked God/Jesus to be my navigator, I was only then able to have complete victory. Ask me how.

The 2026 (started w/Bitcoin but their now telling you) Algorithm Shift: What’s Really Happening

Let me break this down completely, technically, strategically and spiritually.

Part 1: The Technical Reality

What Changed

Social platforms have historically used a follow graph as the primary signal. You follow someone → you see their content. Simple, predictable, user-controlled.

2026 is different. The primary signal is now behavioral engagement, and following someone is largely irrelevant to whether you see their content.

Think of it like this analogy: Old algorithm = a mailbox. New algorithm = a pusher dealer. The mailbox delivers what you signed up for. The dealer watches what makes your pupils dilate and keeps bringing more of that, whether you asked for it or not.

What “Engagement” Actually Means Now

This is the part most people miss. Engagement used to mean clicks, likes, shares. Now it includes:

• Dwell time, how long your thumb stopped scrolling
• Micro-pauses, even a fraction-of-a-second slow-down registers
• Return visits, coming back to the same creator’s content later
• Completion rate, how much of the video you actually watched
• Negative signals, if you scroll past someone fast, that gets logged too

You don’t have to interact. You just have to react physically and the algorithm reads your behavior more accurately than you read yourself.

Why X’s Open Source Code Matters

X published its recommendation algorithm on GitHub. This is significant because:

1. It’s verifiable, not speculation
2. The architecture confirms that engagement velocity and dwell time outrank follow relationships
3. Because all major platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) are competing for the same attention economy, they’ve converged on nearly identical models

Seeing X’s algorithm is like getting one lab’s formula for Coca-Cola. Every lab is making basically the same formula.

Part 2: The Strategic Implication (Creator/Builder Lens)

This reshapes everything about audience building.

OLD MODEL → NEW MODEL

Build followers → Build engagement rate

Consistent posting schedule → Hooks that stop the scroll

Your audience sees you → Everyone’s audience can see you

Follow = relationship → Behavior = relationship

The upside: You don’t need 100K followers to reach 100K people. One piece of content that stops scrolls can reach audiences you’d never have access to under the old model.

The downside: Your existing audience can be algorithmically starved of your content if a competitor’s content is more physically compelling to them in the moment.

Part 3: The Spiritual Dimension, This Is the Real Story

This is where the speaker goes deeper than any tech analyst will go, and he’s right to go there.

The Flesh vs. Spirit Problem Built Into the Machine

Paul in Galatians 5 describes the conflict: the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh.

Galatians 5;16-26
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

The new algorithm is engineered to feed the flesh side of that equation, not as a conspiracy, but as a natural consequence of optimizing for addictiveness.

Here’s the mechanism:

• Content that triggers fear, outrage, lust, tribalism, and novelty generates longer dwell time
• Content that produces peace, conviction, patience, and depth often doesn’t stop a scroll as fast
• The algorithm doesn’t know or care about the difference, it just amplifies what makes people linger

So the machine systematically rewards content that appeals to the lower nature and deprioritizes content that requires the spirit to engage.

What This Means Practically for a Christian Creator

1. You’re not just competing with other creators, you’re competing with the algorithm’s built-in bias toward flesh-triggering content
2. Watering down the message to be more “engaging” is the trap, you win the algorithm and lose the anointing
3. The scroll-stopping power of truth is real, content that genuinely disrupts someone’s worldview or touches something deep can produce massive dwell time, but for the right reasons
4. The audience you’re building may not be the audience that followed you, the algorithm is constantly reshuffling who sees what based on latent behavioral patterns people didn’t even consciously choose

Part 4: The Bigger Untold Story

The speaker calls this “the biggest untalked about story of 2026”, and he’s not wrong.

Most media coverage focuses on:

• Content moderation
• Political bias in algorithms
• AI-generated content

Almost nobody is covering the behavioral mechanics of how the feed actually works now, and what it means that:

• Platforms have effectively removed user agency over their own feed
• The algorithm knows your flesh better than you do
• Every platform is converging on the same addictiveness-maximization architecture simultaneously

The game isn’t about followers anymore. It’s about creating content that produces genuine behavioral response — and for kingdom-minded content, that means the kind of truth that stops someone cold, not the kind that just tickles the algorithm.

The battle isn’t just in the man. It’s in the machine now too.
